With
a surface of 24,30 Km², the surroundings of Pujerra are kept by a
deep forest of chestnut trees, turning to pine trees as going down into
the bottom of the valley. On the way that bounds this place to the next
Júcar, within cork trees, chesnut trees and black poplar, we will
arrive to the most popular spot as it is the Bridge´s windmill "
molino del puente".
Pujerra
is one of the most visited villages and with a bigger resonance within
Ronda´s country since ancient times because it was an obligatory
crossing in order to arrive from all villages south placed to Ronda, (in
the Serranía center it self) towards the coast.
Town
planning responds to moslem design with narrow and sinous streets,
extremely irregular. Most of divellings are made in mansory with
whitewashed façades and arabic tiles.
We
make stand out the parish church, consecrated to Holy Ghost. The
building is a construct of reduced dimensionss from XVI´S centurry.
Near
to the old bridge´s windmill you find one of the most loved sight views
by the Pujerra´s neighbours, and it is the Genal river, where is some
of its places people can swim during the summer.
Due
of the possibility of having water and shadow provided by the forest, it
makes this place so attractive durring the summer. Its vegetation gives
rise to a spot of considerable beauty.
